With a powerful yet simple meditation technique adapted from astrologer Edwin Steinbrecher’s Inner Guide Meditation (c. 1969), Soul Figures provides guided meditations, custom tarot images, and an image-rich, choose-your-own-adventure style workbook. Steinbrecher’s initial work, while groundbreaking, only remains in book form, and the instructions therein are quite convoluted. Soul Figures provides multiple ways in for as many learning styles as possible (and if we overlooked something, please let us know so we can build out new components as needed).

Though you don't need to know astrology in order to do this practice, you will likely learn our many deep astrological insights and analytical tools by osmosis. You can dial the amount of technical astrology information up or down to your taste. For beginners, instead of trying to memorize and wrangle an array of symbols and arcane terminology, you will absorb astrological concepts through the generative, alchemical power of your creative imagination. Who this course is well-suited for:

  • You're open to astrology but definitely do not need to be a master - anyone from a beginning student to advanced practitioner of astrology can gain valuable tools from this course.
  • You take a liking to symbolic imagery - even if you don't completely understand a given symbol at first.
  • You're able and willing to make a time commitment of 20 minutes per week.

Who this course is not for:

  • You are always trying "transformational tools" of various kinds - but what you're really looking for is to control life outcomes. Come on, be honest!
  • You want massive transformation in your life without being willing to create a regular practice to support it.
  • You are currently or have very recently experienced major mental health struggles and don't have a good system of support already in place.
  • You cannot make a commitment to sobriety for at least one month.

What to expect:

Though quite powerful, this method is not a "quick fix." It is a process of coming into greater quality relationship to yourself while evolving the inner conditions that shape your life experience. The meditation practice involved in Soul Figures also requires a commitment to sobriety. If that's a commitment you cannot make, please do not proceed - or take the course for information/inspiration purposes only and hold off on the meditation until you can get some sobriety under your belt. You might consider starting Day 1 of sobriety as the first day of studying the course materials for two weeks, then diving into the actual practice once your physical system is clear. Also, this method does not yield as much for those inclined to dabble in a noncommittal manner. It requires consistency, a commitment to note-taking and journaling on the experience, and maintaining a regular schedule with the meditation. This is how we get results.

The course is organized in three parts; Part 1 is designed to last for roughly 3-4 weeks, and Parts 2 & 3 will continue unfolding in layers throughout the rest of your life!

There is no rush to tackle all the archetypes right away

Astrology gives us an infinite, ever-expanding understanding of ourselves within the cosmos. And, each element of the chart is connected to the greater whole. Thus, when you work on one archetype or group of archetypes, it sends a ripple of refreshed patterning through the whole system. There is no rush. There is plenty to be gained from going slowly and moving with the cyclic, natural rhythms aligned with your own pacing and unfolding. Note on Astrological Systems & How This Course Can Help with Chart Interpretation

It is very common for people to get the wrong impression about which parts of their chart are the most important, and for people to over-identify with minor aspects or misunderstand the larger context in which an aspect operates in the chart. We are here to support you in making sense of it all so you can cruise the astro plane with clarity and grounded perspective on the skies.

Imagine how much time you've spent on seminars, coaching, therapy, and perhaps even winding through the digital hallways of various astrology apps, trying to understand yourself. With this course, you gain a permanent, lifetime toolkit to help you unlock your unique unconscious terrain, and transform your outer experience.

Soul Figures can be used with either the sidereal or tropical system. This is because our main focus is the planets and their aspects to one another, along with the Universal Archetypes, and these are not dependent on the zodiac. The Zodiac Archetypes (the "signs" you're familiar with - Aries, Taurus, Gemini, etc.) come later in the Soul Figures process. When you get there, you will ultimately work all of them eventually. (Personally, we prefer sidereal astrology, but in our readings we do a dual system approach since people are already so familiar with - and often quite attached to - their tropical chart.)

To be clear, though at Soul Figures we prefer sidereal astrology and heartily recommend it for the most accurate read on your chart, this practice is not particularly related to sidereal astrology and not specifically “sanctioned” by it. As mentioned above, archetypal astrological meditation was developed most notably by Edwin Steinbrecher, a tropical astrologer who had grown frustrated with the limits of astrology. So, this method also isn’t well-known within tropical astrology, either. It is an arcane branch of two already quite arcane traditions, tarot and astrology, which are linked by the symbols and esoteric knowledge of the Western Mystery Traditions.
